Bobcats Drop Matchup To Clark State
The Bobcats took on the Eagles of Clark State Saturday in their first OCCAC matchup of the season, dropping the contest by a final score of 63-49. Destinee White led the Bobcats offense with 15 points to go along with 6 rebounds in the contest.
The Bobcats, coming off a win earlier this week over LCCC, looked sharp out of the gates holding a 19-14 lead at the end of the 1st quarter on the back of an 8-2 run to end the first 10 minutes by Bobcat Sophomore guard Abby Spalding. Destinee White took over the second quarter scoring 8 of the Cats 10 points, but the Eagles managed to erase the B&SC lead going into halftime with the game tied 29-29. The Bobcats continued to hang tough in the second half behind the hot hand of Destinee White, but a fourth quarter in which they were out scored 21-8 sealed the deal on this one for the Eagles. The height of Clark State's post players in Kimble and Fultz proved to be the key difference in the squads in this one as both players finished the game with 10+ points and 10+ rebounds. Kimble led all scorers with 22 points while pulling down 14 rebounds, including 6 on the offensive side of the court. The loss moves the Bobcats record to 1-4 on the season, 0-1 in OCCAC play. They will look to right the ship as they travel to Owens College to take on the Express in another OCCAC matchup this coming Wednesday December 7th.
