Brooklyn Gramse Wins Player of the Year Honors
SOLON, OH- Bobcats pitcher and catcher Brooklyn Gramse took home the 2023 Ohio Community College Athletic Conference Player of the Year award, earlier in the month of May. The award recognizes player each year who individually performed the best in the OCCAC.
On the season, Gramse had a .582 batting average and 46 hits, which led the team. She also led the Cats in runs with 35, doubles with 11, and was tied with Sommer Bourne with a team leading 5 triples.
Bryant & Stratton coach Bryon Tobin spoke highly of her star player, mentioning she was a huge part of the success Bryant & Stratton had over the course of the season.
"She was a pivotal key to our success." Tobin said. "As far as wins, leadership behind the plate and calling her own games. She had phenomenal success back behind the plate."
Tobin continued to praise how important Gramse's offensive and defensive game was to the Cats.
"Her defense as well as her offense was monumental as far as our own team success this season."
Gramse also won first team all-OCCAC honors. As did her teammate Sommer Bourne.
The Bobcats finished the season with a 6-15-1 record, and will set their sights on the 2024 season.
