Men's Basketball Loses to Rival
Scoring Tandem of Craven and Thurman Not Enough for Win
Bryant & Stratton men's basketball team lost their away contest against Lakeland Community College, on Wednesday evening in Kirtland, Ohio. The Bobcats had a little more depth than the previous game with Reed and Barron returning to the court. It was a physical game early. Both teams fought to win the battle in the paint. BSC opened with two turnovers in the first half and the Lakers were able to capitalize with field goals to build a lead. The score was back and forth throughout the first half. Bryant & Stratton made a short run cutting the lead to five early in the second half. Fouls, turnovers, and subsitutions followed. The Lakers built a double digit lead half way through that could not be overcome. Although the Bobcats played 10, Lakeland outpaced the bench by 21 points. Lakeland also outrebounded the Bobcats by nine.
Davonte Craven led the way for Bryant & Stratton with 27 points, and 12 rebounds. Greg Thurman had a big night with 23 points, and eight rebounds.
Next up for the Bobcats is a big match up versus Edison State Community College on Saturday 2/15.
