The Bobcats played their last pair of OCCAC games against Clark State at Cisar Field dropping the first game 3-1 and the second 6-1. Tylor Wolfe led the Bobcats at the plate with 2 extra base hits on the day including his 6th home run of the year. The pair of L's end the Bobcats' 8 game home winning streak and moves their record to 22-9 overall, 9-3 in OCCAC play.
The Bobcat offense was never able to get anything going against the Eagles starter Zach Cabell who would throw 6.1 Innings allowing only the single run on the solo shot off the bat of Tylor Wolfe in the 7th, he struck out 14 Bobcat in his best performance of the season. Bobcat starting pitcher Brad Wolfe turned in another quality outing sprinkling 7 hits across his complete game performance allowing 3 runs (2 earned) while striking out 4. three runs allowed would be a win almost any other day for the Bobcats as the offense has been averaging 7.5 runs per game on the season, but not today as the Bobcats fall 3-1 in the first game.
Game two would be much of the same for the Bobcats as the offense only managed 4 hits and a single run in the 2nd inning when a Torrey Roper double to left would drive home Riley Day. The Eagles would tally 6 runs in the first 4 ⅔ innings against the Bobcat pitching duo of Justin Simons and Adam Wibert. Simons would start the game working the first 2 ⅔ innings striking out 3 while surrendering 3 earned on 5 hits before turning the game over the Adam Wibert. Would would work out of a jam with a big strike out in the third to end the Eagles scoring opportunity, but would go on to allow 3 runs on 5 hits in his two innings of work before handing the ball to Jagger Jefferis out of the pen. Jefferis would look dominant once again striking out 5 of the 8 batters he faced in his 2 ⅓ innings pitched without allowing a hit. The Bobcats would drop this one 6-1. These games wrap up OCCAC play for the Bobcats who finish the season as the first place team in the conference and receive an automatic bid into the district 12 tournament. This bid means the Bobcats are 6 wins away from a birth into the NJCAA national championship in Enid, OK.
The team will travel to Lakeland on Tuesday to play a non conference single 9 inning game against the Lakers at 4pm.
