March 29, 2023 - - The Lorain County Community College softball team could only get through two innings until heavy winds and sleet ended their contest with the Bryant & Stratton College Bobcats trailing, 4-3.
The Commodores scored twice in the bottom half via wild pitches and walks given by the Bobcats. Faith Hamilton (Grafton, Ohio/Midview HS) started for LCCC and drove in their only run in the bottom of the second with a double down the left field line. Hamilton, Alysaa Beckett (Medina, Ohio/Buckeye HS), and Gracie Frey (Vermilion, Ohio/Vermilion HS) all scored for LCCC with Courtney Keeler (Medina, Ohio/Buckeye HS) reaching base twice via the walk. Beckett was also credited with a stolen base.
Frey made a terrific catch in left field to double a Bryant & Stratton baserunner in the top of the second inning.
No makeup date has been announced for making up the second game of the doubleheader.
