Cats Softball Splits with Cuyahoga Community College
Bobcats feeling confident moving forward, especially after winning four out of five on the weekend with no shortage of runs scored
SOLON, OH- Coming off of a two game series sweep over Clark State College, Bobcats softball kept up the intensity and pressure as they hosted the Triceratops from Cuyahoga Community College Sunday, April 16 at Roxbury Field.
The Bobcats scored 13 runs in game one, but fell short, 18-13.
After the first four innings, the Cats held a 11-8 advantage. In the bottom half of the third, the Cats were able to get home runs from Autumn Fuller and Summer Bourne, who had two homers on the day. Ultimately, Cuyahoga Community College scored 8 runs in the sixth inning, and it proved to be too much for the Bobcats.
At the plate, Bourne had 5 RBI on 3 hits, Gramse had good production as well, with 4 RBI. Ocean Summers had 3 hits and scored 3 runs.
CCC got up to a one run advantage in the early going of game two, drawing a 1-0 lead in the first two innings. However, that lead would not last, as the following third and fourth innings the Bobcats would execute three runs in each inning.
The Triceratops however, scored four runs in the fourth inning, making the score 6-5 after four. Cuyahoga Community College would not score any more runs beyond the fourth inning, the Cats would score one more run in the fifth, then 6 runs in the sixth to pull away and win 13-5.
As a team, the Bobcats would have 18 hits as a team. Brooklyn Gramse would swing a hot bat all afternoon long. In game two, she went a perfect 4-for-4 from the plate and had 3 RBI. Abby Spalding, Halle Williams, Kamia Pou all had multiple RBI. All but one Bobcat batter registered an RBI.
In game two on the mound, Sam Goode pitched the complete game and struck out one batter, but allowed only 7 hits.
