Cats Handle Team Ontario at Home
Dominate pitching and multiple home runs propel Cats to victory
SOLON, OH- Energy and optimism filled Solon Community Park Saturday, September 30 as the Cats dominated Team Ontario 21-2 in a ten inning game.
Bryant & Stratton would put together an all around solid effort in the win, the Cats only two runs allowed came in the first inning. After that, consistent pitching and productive at-bats took over to propel them to the win.
On a day where things were clicking at the plate, Brandon Lehman was a force at the plate, he would record six RBI and also knock two baseballs out of the park. Evan Jarvis continues his solid career as a Bobcat, notching a home run, three RBI, and a pair of walks. Jack Amis would stay patient at the plate, walking a team high four times and scoring four runs.
As a team, the Bobcats registered 19 hits 18 RBI and 11 walks.
Pitching also took center stage over the course of the day. In total, the Cats would strike out 17 batters and allow just four hits. Byrne would come on in relief and record six strikeouts, in 2.2 innings of work, Kiser would follow up with four strikeouts. Russo would end the game on a strong note striking out three batters in the one inning he pitched.
The Bobcats will now turn their attention to Ashland as they have a double header scheduled for Saturday, October 7 with a noon start time.
