Bobcats Walk it Off in Game 1, Eagles Win Game 2
Bryant & Stratton got a huge spark in game one, but will look to regroup after falling to Clark State Community College in game two
SOLON, OH- The Bobcats welcomed the Eagles from Clark State Community College on Sunday, April 16, and split the two game series with the win coming in exciting walk-off fashion. The four game series would end in a 2-2 tie.
Game one got off to a good start for both teams, as Clark State scored two runs in their first at bats, and the Bobcats were able to get one back, as Ryan Horstman scored off of an Evan Jarvis ground out. Bryant & Stratton would tie the game up when Ethan Hyme grounded out, but Dom Prevesk would score on the play.
In the first game, Jarvis would register two RBI, and would also walk it off. The ballgame was in the hands of the Eagles in the bottom of the seventh inning, but Hyme got on base, Jackson Micheels would get a single and Sawyer Bryner would pinch run. Jarvis ripped a ball down the left field foul line, and both Bryner and Hyme would score, giving the Cats a 4-3 exciting walk-off win.
On the mound, Matthew Blanchard got the start and struck out a pair in 5 complete innings. Ben Keller came on in relief and earned the win in 2 innings.
The Bobcats would want to quickly forget the final game of the series, as Clark State would take a commanding 10-0 win after 5 complete innings. In that game, Ryan Horstman had two hits. Seth Lahocki had a hit as did Ethan Hyme.
On the mound, Noah Brite, Nick Feasel and Chris Kross combined for seven strikeouts. The Bobcats will look to bounce back from game two and play Hocking Tuesday, April 18 at Sports Force Parks in Sandusky.
