Bobcats complete four game two day series sweep against Terra State
A career six RBI day and a walk-off grand slam from Sawyer Bryner puts an exclamation point on series sweep over the Titans
SOLON, OH- The Bobcats carried their Friday momentum right into Saturday with a two game sweep against Terra State Saturday at Solon Community Park.
In game one, the Cats opened up with three runs their first chance at the plate. Terra State would respond with three runs of their own, and the game was tied heading into the second inning. Bryant and Stratton would score five unanswered runs, to grab the victory 8-3.
Jackson Micheels and Ryan Horstman each hit a home run in the win. Micheels added 2 RBI and 3 stolen bases. Dom Prevesk would also swipe 3 bases. Ethan Hyme would go 4-for-4 from the plate and would score a run. Matt Blanchard got the starting nod on the mound, and in four innings of work, he would strike out six batters. Ben Keller came on in relief and didnt allow a run in three innings of work.
In game two, a walk-off grand slam from Sawyer Bryner took the spotlight, as the Cats defeated Terra State 10-6.
The first two innings of the ball game, neither team had scored. Terra state would find production in the third inning and take a 3-0 lead. The Bobcats would add a run in the fourth. The Titans had an answer with two runs of their own in the fifth. After one more run for the Bobcats in the bottom of the fifth, the would score eight total runs in the final two innings.
In those final two innings, Bryner had two home runs, with one being the grand slam. In the bottom of the seventh, the game was tied 6-6, and Bryner would hit the opposite field, base clearing, game winning grand slam. The Cats would win 10-6.
Micheels would keep up his strong play with 3 hits. Evan Jarvis and Hyme would each register a hit. Tyler Staub would score 2 runs and draw 3 walks. Brendan Hamlin had 2 hits and 1 run.
Logan Moore and CJ Kross would record four strikeouts each on the mound.
Fresh off of the four game sweep, the Cats will now turn their attention to Lorain Community College Tuesday, April 11.
