Tri-C Men's Basketball Tames Bobcats, 78-64

The Tri-C men's basketball team tamed the Bobcats of Bryant & Stratton for the second time this season at Ursuline College on 1 Feb 2023.  The Tops were down at the half by one but as always Coach Nixon made the necessary adjustments, and the Tops came out stomping in the second stanza. Devin Haid, the reigning OCCAC and NJCAA DII player of the week, posted a double-double with 21 points, and 10 rebounds.

The game was hit and miss through the first half with the Bobcats taking a one-point lead into the locker room.  The Tops seemed especially locked in during the second half.  Manny Hill continued his superb. Hill finished with 22 points and seven rebounds.  His backcourt mate Jordan Persad chipped in a timely 12 points with seven boards.

The second half included two dunks by Patrick Gale.  His second dunk off an assist from Jamil Spivey sent the bench into a frenzy.  Donovan Coffey poured in 10 points to go along with his stellar defense. The Tops defense, led by Coffey, held the Bobcats to 39% shooting from the field and 27% shooting from the arc.  The stifling defense also scored 20 points off 10 Bobcats turnovers.

The men are back in action for a home contest Saturday at 3:00 pm for a rematch with the Chargers of Edison State Community College. The tip-off is set for 3:00pm.

Stay tuned for a special event announcement in the next few day!
